Introduction to the TEC Internship Scheme

The TEC Internship Scheme (TEC इंटर्नशिप योजना) is an initiative by the Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) under the Department of Telecommunications, New Delhi. This scheme aims to engage a total of 25 interns who will partake in various projects, policies, and research works. By participating in this internship, young scholars will not only contribute to TEC’s objectives but also gain valuable insights into the technical domain.

About the TEC Internship Scheme

The TEC Internship Scheme is designed to foster collaboration between the TEC and talented young individuals. The initiative provides a platform for interns to engage with TEC’s work, allowing them to bring fresh ideas and support research efforts. This symbiotic relationship will benefit both the interns and the TEC, enhancing the quality of technical projects and initiatives.

Number of Interns

The internship program will accommodate up to 25 interns. Please note that this number is provisional and might change based on the actual requirements at the time of final selection.

Duration of Internship

The initial engagement period for the interns will be six months, with the possibility of extension to a maximum of twelve months if necessary. Extensions beyond six months can be granted upon the intern’s application, which must be recommended by the relevant Head of Division and approved by the Head of TEC.

Benefits of the Internship

  • Monthly Stipend: Interns will receive a token amount of ₹ 15,000 per month.
  • Certificate of Completion: At the conclusion of the internship, participants will be awarded a certificate recognizing their contributions and experience.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a citizen of India.
  • The candidate should be enrolled in a recognized university, either in India or abroad.
  • The applicant must be in the 3rd or 4th year (pre-final or final year) of a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields:
    • Electronics
    • Communications
    • Telecommunication
    • Radio
    • Information Technology
    • Computers
    • Electrical Engineering

    and must have secured a minimum of 60% marks.

  • Alternatively, the applicant may have completed a Bachelor’s degree or a Post Graduate/Master’s degree in the aforementioned fields within the last year, also with a minimum of 60% marks.

Reservation and Preference Criteria

In deserving cases, the eligibility qualifications may be relaxed based on TEC’s requirements, subject to the recommendations from the Selection Committee and approval from the Head of TEC. Candidates with relevant experience and a strong academic background, especially those holding higher qualifications, may receive preference.

Important Note: Meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee an internship position at TEC.

  • Visit the official TEC website and locate the application link.
  • Fill out the application form accurately, ensuring to specify your areas of interest.
  • Complete applications must be submitted by 31st October (tentative) of the respective year.
  • Upload a scanned copy of the completed application form (Annexure-II) along with all supporting documents as a single PDF file.

File Submission Guidelines

  • The file name must match the applicant’s name.
  • The PDF file size should not exceed 10 MB.
