The Sanskrit Scholarship initiative, spearheaded by the Higher Education Department of the Madhya Pradesh Government, is designed to foster the growth of the Sanskrit language by offering financial support to deserving students. This scholarship program caters to various academic levels within the realm of Sanskrit studies, ensuring that students in both government and aided non-government colleges have the opportunity to receive monthly financial assistance.

This well-structured scheme provides a monthly scholarship of ₹300 for a duration of 10 months to students enrolled in Sanskrit programs at different educational levels. The following levels of study are included:

  • Post Graduate (M.A. Classic)
  • Acharya
  • Graduate (B.A. Classic)
  • Shastri
  • Uttar Madhyama
  • Purva Madhyama
  • Prathama

To qualify for this scholarship, students must be residents of Madhya Pradesh and have a family income that does not exceed ₹54,000 per annum. The selection process adheres to specific quota guidelines to ensure fairness and transparency.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Sanskrit Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a resident of Madhya Pradesh.
  • Must be currently enrolled as a student.
  • Must be studying Sanskrit at eligible levels in government or aided non-government colleges.
  • The annual family income should not exceed ₹54,000.
  • Academic qualifications must align with the following:
    • Post Graduate: Minimum of 50% marks in degree examination.
    • Acharya: Minimum of 50% marks in Shastri or equivalent examination.
    • Graduate: Minimum of 50% marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination.
    • Shastri: Minimum of 45% marks in Purva Madhyama.
    • Uttar Madhyama: Minimum of 45% marks in Prathma or equivalent.
    • Purva Madhyama: Based on merit in the 5th examination.

Application Process

To apply for the Sanskrit Scholarship, follow these steps:

  • Advertisement Issuance: The Directorate of Higher Education will issue an advertisement regarding the scheme.
  • Application Scrutiny: Submitted applications will undergo scrutiny, and selections will be made based on the established quota limits.
  • Approval and Disbursement: The Commissioner of Higher Education will approve the selected applications, and the scholarship amount will be transferred to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
