The “Grant of Retention Scholarship to Scheduled Caste Girl Students” is a program launched by the Adi Dravidar Welfare Department of the Government of Puducherry. This scheme targets Scheduled Caste girls who are enrolled in classes I to V at both government and government-recognized private educational institutions within the Union Territory of Puducherry.

  • Each girl student in classes I to V will receive an annual scholarship of ₹1,000, which translates to ₹100 per month over ten months.

Note: This benefit is available exclusively to genuine students who maintain satisfactory progress in their studies at recognized institutions within Puducherry. A student is considered to be progressing satisfactorily if she is promoted to the next higher class each year.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The scholarship is open to all Scheduled Caste girl students residing in the Union Territory of Puducherry.
  • Applicants must either be native to Puducherry or have continuously resided there for a minimum of five years.
  • Eligible students must be enrolled in classes I to V at government or recognized private educational institutions.
  • The annual income of the parent or guardian must not exceed ₹24,000.

Additional Conditions

  • Students awarded the scholarship may retain it until they complete their primary education.
  • Any misconduct by a recipient will result in the cancellation of the scholarship.
  • If a scholarship is obtained through false information, it will be revoked, and any amount disbursed will be recovered at the discretion of the sanctioning authority.

How to Apply Online

  1. First-time applicants must register on the NSP Portal by clicking on the “New Registration” icon at https://scholarships.gov.in/, and provide accurate details as per their documents.
  2. Upon successful registration, applicants will receive a “Student Registration ID.”
  3. Using the “Student Registration ID,” students can log into their accounts by selecting the “Fresh Application” icon on the NSP Portal.
  4. After logging in, the welcome page will appear. By clicking on the “Application Form” icon, students will be directed to the application interface.
  5. Students must complete the application form and click on the “Final Submit” button to submit their application.
  6. Once the application is successfully submitted, a system-generated registration number will be sent to the students for future reference.

Step 02: After successfully get registration done, students will get their “Student Registration ID”.
Step 03: Through “Student Registration ID” students will be able to login into the account using the icon “Fresh Application” at NSP Portal.
Step 04: After successful login to the portal, the welcome page appeared. On clicking the “Application Form” icon, students will be directed to the application screen.
Step 05: Now, the students may fill out the complete application form and on clicking the “Final Submit” button, the application is finally submitted.
Step 06: On successful submission of the application, a system-generated registration number is sent to the students which can be used for future reference.
