Scholarship for the Children of Beneficiaries (CBOCWWB)

The Chandigarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (CBOCWWB) has initiated a scholarship program aimed at providing financial assistance to the children of registered construction workers. This initiative is designed to support the educational pursuits of these children based on their academic performance in the 10th, 12th grades, and graduation.

Overview of the Scheme

The “Scholarship to the Ward of Beneficiary” scheme, launched by the Labour Department of Chandigarh, aims to extend financial aid in the form of scholarships to the wards of workers who are registered with the CBOCWWB. The financial aid is determined by the percentage of marks obtained by the students in their respective examinations, including the 10th grade, 12th grade, and graduation.

The scholarship amounts are allocated based on the percentage of marks achieved by the students in their examinations as follows:

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for this scholarship, the following criteria must be met:

• The worker/beneficiary must be employed in an establishment registered under the Punjab Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1965, with regular contributions to the labour welfare fund received by the Board.
• Beneficiaries are eligible to apply for the scholarship only after six months of being a registered member of the CBOCWWB.
• Applications will not be accepted if the student has received a compartment in any subject.
• If the child is receiving a scholarship from another institution, they will not be eligible for this scholarship.
• Students who rank in the top three positions in National or International sports will be awarded a scholarship irrespective of their academic percentage.
• Each worker can receive scholarships for up to two children.
• Applications must be submitted within three months of the issuance of the student’s mark sheet.

Application Procedure

To apply for this scholarship, follow these steps:

Online Registration Steps

1. Visit the official website of the Labour Department Chandigarh: http://labour.chd.gov.in/
2. On the homepage, click on ‘Click Here for Registration’ to access the registration page. Fill in all required details and click ‘Submit’.
3. After submission, an OTP will be sent to your registered email address and mobile number. Enter the OTP and submit it. Remember your ‘User ID’ and ‘Password’ for future reference.
4. Post-registration, go to the login page and enter your Login ID and Password to log in.
5. Once logged in, click on ‘Apply for Services’ and select (view all available services). In the search bar, type (BOCW) and click on (BOCW Application for Registration as a New Member/Renewal).
6. Download the CBOCW form, fill in the required information, and upload it in the next step.
7. Complete the details for ‘New Member’ and submit. Then click ‘Attach Annexure’ to upload all necessary documents and save the annexure.
8. Click ‘Make Payment’ to finish the payment process. Finally, click the ‘Proceed’ button to generate an acknowledgment receipt.

Note: Make sure to attach clear images of both sides of your Aadhaar Card, a picture of your Bank Passbook, and all filled pages of the BOCW Copy issued by the Board.

Steps to Apply for the Scholarship

1. Visit the Labour Department Chandigarh’s official website: http://labour.chd.gov.in/
2. From the homepage, select the ‘SCHOLARSHIP TO THE WARD OF BENEFICIARY’ scheme.
3. Read the details of the scheme, then click on ‘Click here to Apply/Register’ at the bottom of the page.
4. If you are not registered, click on ‘register yourself’. Fill out the necessary details to register.
5. To apply for the scholarship, click on ‘Apply for Service’ and log in using your ‘User ID’ and ‘Password’.
6. After successful login, you will be redirected to the online application page. Fill in the required personal details, select ‘Scholarship’, and provide work place information.
7. After completing all mandatory fields, click on ‘Self-Declaration’ and fill in any additional information.
8. Enter the verification code/Captcha and submit the application.
9. Preview the completed application and click on ‘Attach Annexure’ to upload the necessary documents.
10. After verifying all submitted details, click on ‘Submit’ to finalize your application.
11. Print the generated ‘Acknowledgement Receipt’ for your records.
12. To track your application status, return to the Labour Department’s official website and log in using your credentials.
13. Click on ‘Track Application Status’, input the required details, and click ‘Get Data’ to view your application status.
