- Other Disciplines: ₹ 8,640 per month, accompanied by a contingency grant of ₹ 6,000 annually.
The ICAR retains the authority to adjust the fellowship and contingency grant amounts periodically based on its regulations.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the ICAR Senior Research Fellowship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or an equivalent OGPA from a recognized university, either in India or abroad.
- Relaxation of 5% in marks for SC/ST and Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates.
- Candidates in their final semester can apply if they complete their postgraduate degree by the examination date and provide the necessary documentation.
- The fellowship is available only for Ph.D. candidates enrolled at an Agricultural University different from the one where they obtained their Master’s degree.
- The upper age limit for applicants is 30 years as of the examination date. This limit is extended to 35 years for SC/ST and PH candidates, and 33 years for OBC candidates. In-service candidates from Agricultural Universities can apply up to 45 years of age.
Note: Reservations for various categories like SC/ST/OBC and PH will be in accordance with the Government of India’s guidelines. The responsibility for verifying the authenticity of SC/ST/OBC and PH certificates lies with the respective Agricultural University where the candidate is admitted.
Application Process
To apply for the ICAR Senior Research Fellowship, candidates must follow the outlined steps:
- Online Registration: Begin by registering online using a valid email address and mobile number.
- Information Submission: Fill in personal, contact, and academic details as required.
- Document Upload: Upload necessary documents, including a scanned photograph, signature, and thumb impression.
- Payment of Fees: Pay the application fee as specified.
- Application Number: Upon successful submission, candidates will receive a system-generated application number.
- Submission of Hard Copy: Send a hard copy of the online application along with proof of fee payment to the Chief Examination Officer (Agricultural Education) by post.
Correction of Application
After submitting the application form, candidates will have the opportunity to rectify any mistakes. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will provide a correction window for final edits. Candidates can use their credentials to make necessary updates. It is important to note that no further chances will be provided for corrections after this window closes.

Application Correction
After submitting the application form for ICAR SRF candidates will get a chance to correct their mistakes. The NTA will provide a correction window to edit the application for the last time. With the help of credentials, candidates can update the application form and rectify their mistakes. No further chance will be given to candidates if they fail to correct their application in this window.
