Women Scientist Scheme-C (महिला वैज्ञानिक योजना-C)

The Women Scientist Scheme-C, initiated by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST), aims to empower women who have experienced a career break. This program encourages them to tackle societal challenges through effective scientific and technological interventions. Participants will undergo a comprehensive one-year training covering various aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs), including patent searches, drafting, filing, and understanding trademarks and copyrights.

Overview of the Scheme

This initiative is specifically designed for women aiming to reintegrate into the workforce after a break, providing them with essential skills in science and technology. The training is facilitated in collaboration with numerous Knowledge Partners, including law firms, Knowledge Processing Organizations (KPOs), and government agencies. The implementation of this scheme is overseen by the Patent Facilitating Centre of the Technology Information Forecasting & Assessment Council (TIFAC).

To qualify for participation, candidates should possess either a Master of Science degree or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or an equivalent qualification. Additionally, having skills in managing computerized databases and report preparation will be advantageous.

Key Benefits

The scheme offers the following financial assistance based on the educational qualifications of the participants:

  • ₹ 35,000/- per month for candidates holding a Ph.D. in Basic or Applied Sciences or an MD/equivalent degree.
  • ₹ 30,000/- per month for those with an M.Phil, M.Tech, M.Pharm, M.VSc, or equivalent degree.
  • ₹ 25,000/- per month for candidates possessing an M.Sc in Basic or Applied Sciences, MBBS, B.Tech, or equivalent degree.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Women Scientist Scheme-C, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • The applicant must be a female.
  • The applicant should have experienced a break in her career.
  • Applicants must be between the ages of 27 and 45 years.
  • A minimum educational qualification of a Master of Science or Bachelor’s in Engineering/Technology or equivalent is required.
