The Technology Fellowship and Patent Promotion Scheme is an initiative by the Government of Goa’s Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications. This scheme aims to empower technology educators in technical educational institutions across Goa, allowing them to enhance their expertise through specialized training and development opportunities.

Overview of the Scheme

The Technology Fellowship and Patent Promotion Scheme is designed to identify and support technology educators in Goa who are eager to expand their skills and knowledge. Selected educators, referred to as fellows, will be offered opportunities to participate in summer schools and short-term training programs at esteemed Centres of Excellence both within India and internationally. This initiative is focused on advancing the educators’ capabilities in their specialized fields.

• Artificial Intelligence (AI)
• Machine Learning (ML)
• Interaction Design
• Big Data Analytics
• Robotics
• 3-D Printing
• Data Science
• Drones
• Virtual Reality (VR)/Augmented Reality (AR)/Merged Reality
• Other areas (subject to approval by the Start-up Promotion Cell – SPC)
• Fellows will receive comprehensive training at Centres of Excellence in their respective fields.
• The Department of IT will establish Advanced Maker Labs and Centres of Excellence within selected technical institutions.
• Selected fellows will act as Master Trainers and Principal Mentors for students and student start-ups incubated in these facilities.
• Each selected educator will receive an educational grant of ₹10,00,000 annually for a span of five years.
• Up to ten educators may benefit from this scheme each year, with one educator selected per focus area by the SPC.
• If a fellow successfully generates and registers any business or value-driven patents in their area of expertise, they may be eligible for an additional patent-specific grant of up to ₹15,00,000, contingent upon SPC certification.

Note: The benefits provided under this scheme are not guaranteed entitlements. The SPC holds the exclusive authority to accept or deny applications based on its guidelines.

Eligibility Criteria

• The applicant must be a technology educator at a technical educational institute located in Goa.

Application Process

Apply Offline

• Step 1: Download and print the application form proforma. Complete all required fields and include copies of all necessary documents (self-attestation may be required).
• Step 2: Submit the filled and signed application form, along with the required documents, to the SPC via email at [email protected].

Note: Applications can be submitted at any time during the fiscal year, but must be within six months of incurring the relevant expenses.

Evaluation Process

• Step 1: Applications will be assessed by the SPC alongside a panel of evaluators.
• Step 2: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview and presentation. Applicants must be available for interviews on the date specified by the SPC.
• Step 3: The SPC will select one educator for each focus area based on the evaluation results and grant the fellowship.
