What is Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana?
The Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana was introduced through Government Resolution No. Kisani-2023/CR 42/11 A dated 15 June 2023. The scheme is designed to provide additional financial assistance to farmers who already qualify for the PM-KISAN scheme.
Under this program, eligible farmer families receive ₹6,000 per year from the Maharashtra government, distributed in three equal installments. Farmers who are already receiving benefits under PM-KISAN automatically become eligible for the Namo Shetkari scheme as well.
The government uses the beneficiary data provided under the PM-KISAN scheme to identify eligible farmers, ensuring a streamlined and efficient implementation process.
Benefits of the Scheme
The Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana provides several financial benefits to eligible farmers:
Eligible farmer families receive ₹2,000 per installment under the scheme.
Farmers who are beneficiaries of PM-KISAN automatically become eligible for NSMNY benefits.
The list of beneficiaries is based on the data provided by the Government of India under the PM-KISAN scheme.
The first installment of NSMNY was released according to the beneficiary list of the 14th installment of PM-KISAN.
At each installment, farmers can receive ₹2,000 from PM-KISAN and ₹2,000 from NSMNY.
This allows eligible farmers to receive up to ₹12,000 annually from both schemes combined.
All payments are transferred directly through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
The amount is credited only to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts of beneficiaries.
If any ineligible person receives benefits, the amount may be recovered as per the PM-KISAN Standard Operating Procedure (SoP).
