Mumkin – Livelihood Generation Scheme

The “Mumkin – Livelihood Generation Scheme” is a transformative initiative launched by the Jammu & Kashmir State government, aimed at empowering the youth of the region. This scheme addresses the unemployment challenges faced by young individuals by providing them with financial support to promote self-employment opportunities, particularly within the transportation sector.

Overview of the Scheme

The “Mumkin – Livelihood Generation Scheme” focuses on uplifting the youth of Jammu & Kashmir by offering them financial assistance and resources. The primary goal is to facilitate self-employment by providing subsidies and enabling access to bank loans. This support allows young entrepreneurs to invest in small commercial vehicles, thus establishing their presence in the transport industry. The initiative not only promotes self-sufficiency among the region’s youth but also contributes positively to the local economy by fostering job creation and enhancing economic activities.

Key Benefits

  • Financial Subsidy: Beneficiaries can receive up to ₹80,000 or 10% of the on-road price of the vehicle, whichever amount is lower, through the Mission Youth initiative.
  • Matching Contribution: Vehicle manufacturers will provide a subsidy equivalent to the amount contributed by Mission Youth, further enhancing financial support for applicants.

Eligibility Requirements

  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Jammu and Kashmir.
  • Age must be between 18 and 35 years.
  • The applicant should be currently unemployed.
  • A valid commercial driving license is mandatory for the applicant.
  • If the vehicle is to be rented out, an affidavit alongside the commercial driving license must be submitted.
