Applicants must note that submissions are accepted exclusively in offline mode.

The “Financial Assistance to Purchase/Construct New Fishing Craft less than 26 feet for Fishing in Inland Waters of Goa” is an initiative by the Department of Fisheries, Government of Goa. This program is specifically designed to uplift the traditional fishing community by providing financial aid in the form of subsidies for the construction or purchase of fishing crafts under the specified size for operations in inland waters across Goa. The intention is to bolster the local fishing economy and support the livelihoods of those dependent on this profession.

Key Benefits

• For General Category: A subsidy of 50% is available, capped at ₹30,000, based on a unit cost of ₹60,000 (excluding GST).
• For SC/ST/Woman Category: A subsidy of 60% is provided, limited to ₹36,000, with the same unit cost of ₹60,000 (excluding GST).

Note: Subsidy benefits can be availed every seven years for the replacement of an existing canoe.

Eligibility Requirements

• The applicant must be a traditional fisherman by birth or profession.
• Residency in Goa is mandatory for applicants.
• The fishing canoe must hold a registration with the Department of Captain of Ports, Government of Goa.

Application Procedure

To apply for this financial assistance, follow the steps below:

1. The interested applicant should obtain the prescribed application form from the department, which requires a payment of ₹50.
2. Complete the application form by filling in all required fields, affixing a passport-sized photograph (signed as necessary), and attaching copies of all requisite documents (self-attested if necessary).
3. Submit the filled and signed application form along with the necessary documents to the relevant authority at the Department of Fisheries, located at Dayanand Bandodkar Marg, Patto Colony, Panaji Goa – 403 521, or to the official stationed at the BDO Office/Sub-Offices of the Department of Fisheries.

Grievance Redressal Mechanism

If you have any complaints or dissatisfaction regarding the services or standards provided, you may file a grievance with the Department’s Grievance Redressal Officer. Additionally, grievances can be submitted via email to [email protected]. All complaints will be acknowledged, and responses will be communicated within a 30-day timeframe.
