Benefits of the Scheme

Families participating in this scheme can avail themselves of the following benefits:

  • A fixed deposit (FD) of ₹25,000 for each of the two girl children, with a copy of the FD receipt provided to the family.
  • Renewal of the fixed deposit after five years.
  • An annual incentive of ₹1,800 starting from the sixth year of the FD.
  • The total amount along with accrued interest will be disbursed to the girl child upon reaching 18 years of age.

Note: The matured funds will only be released to the girl child if she appears for the 10th standard public examination.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the benefits under this scheme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • The assistance is available for only two girl children from the family.
  • The annual income of the parents should not exceed ₹72,000.
  • At least one parent must have undergone sterilization before the age of 40.
  • The family should have only one female child and no male child. Adoption of a male child in the future is not permitted.
  • Parents or grandparents must be residents of Tamil Nadu by birth or have lived there for at least ten years at the time of application.
  • This scheme is also available to the girl children of Sri Lankan Tamil Refugees residing in refugee camps in Tamil Nadu.

Application Process

Applying for the Chief Minister’s Girl Child Protection Scheme-II can be done online through a Common Service Center (CSC). Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Collect all required documents necessary for the application.
  2. Visit the nearest Common Service Center (CSC) and complete biometric verification.
  3. Fill out the application form, ensuring all mandatory fields are completed, and upload copies of the necessary documents.
  4. Request a receipt or acknowledgment from the CSC, ensuring it contains important details such as the submission date, time, and any unique identification number.

Note: Applicants must ensure that their parents or grandparents have been domiciled in Tamil Nadu for at least ten years at the time of application.
